Re:Form

Re:Form Series, 2025

The topic that I chose to delve into is the Physical Body, a definite step outside my comfort zone. A few years ago, my uncle suffered a stroke that left half of his body paralyzed. Through my experiences living life and traveling with him, I have seen firsthand how difficult and frustrating it can be for people with disabilities to perform everyday tasks, such as putting on clothing. It is a daily task that most of us take for granted, yet an everyday struggle for millions around the world.

I want to create a collection that bridges the gap between accessible and still trendy fashion. One of the main problems I found while researching this topic was the lack of existing work on it. Because of this, I realized that I had to create my own narrative. I gained inspiration from books on accessible architecture and interviews with doctors who have broader knowledge in this field, attempting to merge fashion and accessibility into a single form.

By combining my culture and childhood memories into a fabric-based expression, my goal is to create a collection that is whimsical and playful. I began my story with Strawberry Shortcake, one of my biggest style inspirations when I was younger. Through this process, I began a journey, not only to help my uncle, but also the millions of people around the globe who face similar challenges.
